Mark’s experience in community development helped shape the vision and approach behind Marvelous Ways International.
In 2019, Mark launched a rehabilitation model for street-connected children in Kenya and collaborated to plan a new kind of NGO. MWI would be motivated by compassion for children in desperate situations and driven by the innovation, efficiency, and operational excellence found in leading companies.
The organization was designed to work without religious or political agendas and to approach complex social challenges with the rigor of an innovation consulting firm.
Traditional charity projects that build infrastructure and reduce access barriers remain necessary. Mark’s experience also led him to focus on the complex, interconnected challenges facing children and young people—and on solutions that bring together international community development, technology, and behavioral science.
